Ardagh Chalice Poster

Ardagh Chalice 8^th Century AD

This beautiful silver chalice lay concealed with other precious objects in a ringfort in Co.Limerick, until it was uncovered by a youth digging for potatoes in 1868. The names of the apostles (except Judas) are incised around the outside of the bowl.
